It is important to know the difference between an Open Door Respray and a Closed Door Respray, as it impacts both the final result, and the scope of work involved.
An Open Door Respray is considered a full respray, as it involves painting the entire vehicle, including the exterior and the interior edges such as door jambs, frames, and sills. This method ensures a seamless colour change with no visible traces of the original paint when the doors are opened, providing a consistent, flawless finish across the vehicle.
A Closed Door Respray focuses only on the visible exterior surfaces of the car, excluding areas like the inner door frames and edges. While this approach is suitable for refreshing the car’s outer appearance, it is not ideal for colour change respray projects. Since the inner areas are not painted, the original paint will still be visible when the doors are opened, leading to an inconsistent look. For a true, uniform colour change, a full Open Door Respray is recommended.

Discover what our customers say:
We do not offer vinyl car wrap installations, and do not recommend car wraps to our clients. Vinyl wraps are less durable than paint, difficult to clean and maintain, and are challenging to remove without damaging the original paint underneath. If you decide to change the colour temporarily, you could face significant costs to repair any paintwork once the wrap is removed. For a quality long-term solution, we suggest considering a full respray for greater durability and ease of maintenance.
We do not offer interior customisations such as seat belts and upholstery, however there are speacialised businesses in Perth that can help you.
Damage to your customised car may be covered under insurance, but this depends on your policy and the type of modifications made. Insurers like Shannons offer coverage for legal modifications you declare, provided they are included in the agreed value of the vehicle. It’s essential to inform your insurer about any customisation to ensure proper coverage. If modifications aren't declared, your claim may be denied. Always check your policy or consult with your insurer to confirm coverage of your customisation.
You can have the utmost confidence knowing our workmanship carries a lifetime warranty. The vehicle paint and OEM parts we use carry their own individual manufacturer guarantees which extend to you.
After a respray, it’s crucial to let the paint fully harden before washing your car. Although the paint is baked in our commercial spray booth to accelerate curing, it still needs time to achieve optimal durability.
We recommend waiting at least two weeks before washing, waxing, or exposing your vehicle to harsh conditions, as these could compromise the fresh paint. For best results, opt for hand washing instead of automatic car washes, which can be abrasive.
Feel free to ask our team for advice on suitable cleaning products to ensure they are gentle and safe for your vehicle's new paint finish.
We use Octoral automotive paints, known for their durability, UV protection, and precise colour matching to OEM standards. These paints are designed to resist fading and environmental wear, ensuring your vehicle maintains its pristine appearance. Octoral provides a wide range of finishes, including metallics, pearls, candy and solids, with robust clearcoats to protect your vehicle long-term.
For custom colours, we recommend House of Kolor. This premium brand offers a stunning array of finishes, including candy colours, metallics, and colour-shifting effects, allowing for a truly unique and personalised result.
We strongly discourage relying on online DIY guides or directories that provide vague price ranges, such as $400-$700 per panel or fixed costs for a full respray. These figures are often outdated and in no way remotely accurate, leading to disappointment and frustration when the actual costs do not align with expectations.
The reason for this is that the cost of a car respray depends on a variety of factors unique to each job. It’s difficult to provide a price without understanding the specifics of your vehicle and its condition. Below are some key factors we need to know and consider before providing you an initial assessment:
Given these variables, it's crucial to have a proper evaluation of your vehicle to determine the exact scope of work and cost involved. Contact us so we can assess the specifics of your car customisation needs.
We do not recommend painting brake calipers yourself due to the need for careful preparation and the use of the right paint to ensure proper adhesion.
A professional caliper colour change ensures correct preparation and the use of high-temperature paint specifically designed to withstand the extreme heat generated during braking. These specialised paints can endure temperatures up to 400°C and will not crack, peel, or fade under heat stress, ensuring long-lasting, vibrant results.
