Address cracked windscreens without delay
A cracked windscreen is a serious issue that should be addressed promptly for two key reasons:
1.
Police can issue a yellow sticker for an unroadworthy vehicle.
2.
Even small cracks can weaken the windscreen’s structural integrity, compromise your safety, obstruct the driver’s view, and gradually spread due to road vibrations or temperature changes, potentially requiring a full replacement.
For your safety, timely repair or replacement is strongly recommended. Get an initial assessment of your vehicle through our online tool.
What to do if your Windscreen is leaking
Leaking windscreens need to be dealt with urgently to avoid costly damage to your vehicle’s dashboard, electrical components, mould occurring in the AC, and rust forming in the frames and footwells. Steps to take:
- If possible, locate the source of the leak.
- Take photos of the leak/ affected areas and upload on our Assessment tool below. Please indicate your vehicle has a leak so our team can prioritise your vehicle.
- Prevent further damage by avoiding to drive the vehicle and/or store it undercover away from rain.
- If possible, apply waterproof tape over the affected area without obstructing the driver’s line of sight.

Assess my VehicleFrequently Asked Questions
Signs of a leaking windscreen include water or damp spots on the dashboard or interior, a musty smell in the cabin, foggy windows from the inside, or visible water entry around the windscreen edges during rain.
In most cases, a windscreen replacement is completed within a day. Your vehicle will typically be ready for pick-up by the afternoon.
- Cracked windscreen edges
- Improperly installed windscreens or repairs
- Off-road vehicles, such as 4WDs and SUVs, can trap mud and debris, leading to water pooling and rust if not properly maintained.
- Modifications such as sunroof installations can disrupt factory sealants, increasing the likelihood of leaks.
- Compromised door and windscreen seals, resulting in water ingress.
Leaking windscreens can also indicate the presence of rust. We frequently encounter this issue and address it by performing comprehensive rust removal before installing a new windscreen.
You can have the utmost confidence knowing our workmanship carries a lifetime warranty. The vehicle paint and OEM parts we use carry their own individual manufacturer guarantees which extend to you.
We can assist with both. Our services can be funded either through your insurance or handled privately. We can help you determine which option is best for your situation based on the type and extent of the damage.
If you prefer to maintain your no-claim bonus or are uninsured, we can facilitate a private repair. However, we strongly recommend having comprehensive car insurance to protect yourself from significant out-of-pocket expenses. With vehicles becoming increasingly complex, including features like sensors and driver assist technology (ADAS), the cost of a new bumper alone can exceed several thousand dollars, even before painting and installation.
